PURR-FECTLY EXOTIC IS THE HOME OF TICA's International "AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for BEST And SECOND BEST Exotic Shorthairs FOR 2008" as well as Best Cream Tabby and Best Silver Tabby/White
Our history includes over 30 years of silver Persian breeding, working mainly with the "traditional" type of Silvers from the Dearheart and Beverly Serrano lines of California. Several of our breeding stock were purchased directly from Jeanne Ramsdale who developed the Dearheart line of Silver Persians. Over the years we have added some other top lines to our program, including queens of differing colors, mainly cameo, red, blues, calicos, dilutes and Himies.
In 2001, when I was introduced to the "Exotic Short Hair", I fell in love yet again, and have added these delightful, fun-filled and mischievous characters to our breeding program as well.
We originally selected a beautiful Silver Tabby and White Exotic ShortHair - [Champion Aziza's Squirt of Ladyluck] - as our initial Sire, and we now have among our 'queens' a dilute calico; a blue crème ; a silver MacTabby; a silver classic tabby; one shaded silver and a shaded Golden.
We are thrilled to welcome CH. Milbury Charleston Chew, a cream classic tabby who attained his Triple Grand Championship in 3 shows!
PURR-FECTLY EXOTIC is saddened to report that our Dream Cat addition to our breeding program, 'MISSIONHILL ETERNAL MELODY' has been DNA tested in Sept 2008 and found to be "positive " for PKD. We purchased Melody from Munira Murray of Missionhill Cattery in late 2006 at the age of 4 years. Melody had been sold to me only as scanned PKD negative but unfortunately I did not realize at that time that the DNA PKD test was available. Munira never advised me about the DNA test, nor did she sugest that she would DNA test Melody before I purchased her for $1,500.00! UPDATE: Sadly our beautiful Melody died of severe PKD on Sept. 18th, 1 week after her 6th birthday.
Thank you those that have inquired. Please ensure the cats that you purchase are DNA tested, and not just scanned for this awful disease. Scanning is not the answer: DNA is 100% accurate.
The breeder has refused to provide any compensation. Buyer beware!
